Exhibition: Reflections on Culture & Self

This multi-location exhibit is co-sponsored by the Eagle Diversity and Inclusion Team and the Department of Communication, Media, Art and Design and will run from October 7 -November 1, 2024. An awards reception is scheduled for from 12:30-1:45pm on Tuesday, October 8 in the Camden-Carroll Library’s Athena Gallery.

The Adron Doran University Center’s display cases contain clay pieces by art and non-art majors from Ceramics I courses. These works were created around one of the following prompts provided by Professor Quinn Maher: Replication or Historical vs. Contemporary. Additional pieces can be viewed in CYA display cases on the main floor.

The Camden-Carroll Library’s Diversity Gallery (on the 2nd floor) is displaying paintings by art majors that are representations of “The Self,” whether they be self-portraits, or symbolic or conceptual interpretations of oneself; works were created in Professor Gary Mesa-Gaido’s Painting II & III courses. Participating artists include:

The Camden-Carroll Library’s Athena Gallery (on the 2nd floor) is displaying digital design prints by art and non-art majors that are based on the concept of Cultural Humility. Designs were created in Professor Siriporn Peters’s Digital Foundations courses.
